The Role

As an Embedded Systems Technical Lead at KONUX, you will be responsible for the development of our next generation of railway IIoT devices. You will be asked to reconcile your expertise in embedded system design with novel ideas in order to drive our innovation projects with a pragmatic approach. Working closely with customers, you will be involved in every step from ideation, to testing prototypes in a real environment, and to full-on product development. The ideal candidate learns and adapts quickly, keeps always up to date, loves to test new technologies and burns to develop outstanding and sophisticated products with the team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take the technical leadership for the new embedded systems team and mentor team members
  • Test and evaluate innovative solutions based on commercially available components which may build the base for the new system
  • Define the new system architecture of our devices to bring more flexibility, scalability and stability to our product
  • Specify or detail the technical requirements for our next generation of railway IIoT devices after verification in the field 
  • Develop the device from prototype to series product
  • Define our research focus, actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology

Your Profile

  • Degree in electrical engineering, software engineering,  or another relevant field
  • 6+ years of experience in software development for embedded systems and 2+ years in a technical leadership role
  • Extensive knowledge of embedded software architecture for Industrial IoT devices
  • Experience with wireless communication for distributed sensor systems 
  • Proven C/C++ expert including hands-on experience with Embedded Linux systems and at least basic knowledge about RTOS 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work using Agile methodologies

  • You don’t have programmed using C/C++ for at least 5 years
  • You don’t have a hands-on mentality and are no more used to write code
  • You cannot read schematic circuit diagrams
