Life as a Company Oma

Josefine, Company Oma, 23.06.2023

Hello, who are you? Can you please introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello! My name is Josefine and every Thursday I cook lunch for 12 to 15 people at KONUX. I was born in Munich (75 years ago) and have lived here ever since. I have a daughter and a granddaughter. In my professional life, I worked in human resources, most recently in a consulting capacity with a focus on labor law.

How did you come to KONUX?

As a retiree, I was looking for a job with an activity that I enjoy. Initially, I found this in a senior citizens’ bakery. When KONUX asked for a cooking grandma, I applied immediately, since cooking is my greatest passion, even before baking. After 1x trial cooking I had my dream job.

You are one of our longest standing employees… How does that feel?

When I started at KONUX in July 2018, there were about 35 employees. Since then, the company has grown a lot and not many of my colleagues from back then are still on board. I am proud to still be part of the team.

What has changed for you over the years?

There are two things in particular. First, there are now many more vegetarians and vegans on the team. I want to cook a healthy lunch for them, too. Especially vegan dishes are not so many in my repertoire, because I want to cook without substitute products, "honest vegan" so to say. For this, I am busy collecting recipes. The second is that I want to address my guests by their name. Remembering the (often foreign) names and matching them to the right face is a big challenge for me.

What’s the best thing about being a corporate grandma?

I enjoy a very high level of trust. That’s why I can work completely independently and make the appropriate decisions. I don’t get any instructions, at most, wishes are expressed 😉

What is special about the people at KONUX? How would you describe the interaction in the team?

I am highly valued by all people at KONUX, starting at the top level. I get help when I need it and I am pampered with cappuccino and everything I want. They are at all times concerned that I am doing well. I am very grateful for this loving and respectful treatment.

Was there a highlight, a particular moment, that has stayed in your memory in a particularly positive way?

Every Thursday is the highlight of the week for me. For me, working at KONUX is a dream job and the elixir of life.
